The idea behind this camp is to provide an extended event for families to get-to-know other families with similar origins as their own. Kids, teens and young adults get time with each other. Parents get time with other parents, too.
This will be a "BYO" do-it-yourself camp. Camping families will bring their own snacks and bedding. There is a loose schedule and all activities are optional. There will be plenty of time for swimming, hiking, fishing, playing Frisbee & games, lake activities and kicking back in our camp chairs watching the fun and chatting. There are also age-group-specific activities. We will ask for campers to volunteer to organize some events. If you have an idea for activity that you would like to lead, let us know.
Camp Food Traditions: We will have our traditional stone soup, Kazakh donuts, blini and other yummy ethnic foods.
Other Nearby Activities: The camp schedule is being planned now. There are many nearby activities that we are looking at. This could include horseback riding, lake activities, hiking, star gazing, heritage museum, Saturday Market, swap meet, and MY FAVORITE, nearby parks including these.:
